We’ve been keeping a close eye on new updates to the Jobkeeper package in order to provide the most up-to-date and useful information to you as quick as we can. Today, we received a few very important updates.
JOB KEEPER EXTENDED
As of 21 July 2020, it was announced that the JobKeeper Payment will be extended until 28th March 2021 and will aid businesses that continue to be significantly impacted by COVID-19.
WHAT IS NEXT?
The existing JobKeeper Payment will remain in place until 27th September 2020.
After 28th September the new JobKeeper payment will have a two-tier payment introduced. To be eligible for the new JobKeeper payment, businesses will require to show a reduction in turnover of 30% for the June 2020 and September 2020 quarters to receive further payments for January to March 2021.
For October to December 2020; the payment will be reduced to $1,200 per fortnight for those working more than 20 hours per week OR $750 for those working less than 20 hours a week.
For January to March 2021; the payment will be reduced to $1,000 per fortnight for those working more than 20 hours per week OR $650 for those working less than 20 hours per week.
